Anyone else having problems with easton bats?

We bought our son one of those easton comp stealth bats last year and have had nothing but problems from it. It started to come apart and was loose where the bell meets the handle. After weeks of trying to get someone on the line through their automated system, we returned it. They sent us a new one to replace it. This one is doing the same thing and has only been used for 2-3 months. We called today and they told us there was nothing they could do because it had been over a year since we bought the original. I really think it is a manufacturering defect or something. Several people have told me that alot of teams have had to send 4 or 5 back...

Looks like we are going to not get the bat replaced or any money back and the thing cost almost $400 dollars. My son saved alot of his own money to pay for it. Looks like there would be some kind of lemon law thing where if they know they are having alot of problems with it they would try to make it right. I'm pretty disgusted with the whole situation.

Easton bats have always been bad to break right above the handle.

Shew! We will never buy another one. We can't even get one good season out of it. Seems like not even half a season before it starts coming apart. That's alot of money to waste on one.

I have personally witnessed 4 of the old black and yellow ones break...and they all broke in the same exact place.

I guess we will have to get a new one. He hit with it last night and it sounded dead as can be. What bat would you recommend?

I've been out of the loop so long that I wouldn't really know which bat to recommend.

Re: Anyone else having problems with easton bats?

I have always had good luck with Easton Bats. The Easton comp bats in the stiff flex (orange color) have a very good track record. Did you buy the stiff flex or the Regular flex. You see a lot of college teams using that Bat on TV. The way that the comp bat works is the more you use it the better it gets. As in all bats with these very thin walls they will have to be replaced under warranty. Thats why the cost is so high, because the manufactuers know that there is a good chance of it coming back.

I had the same thing happen. The 1st bat broke where the bat joins together. Easton replaced it in July. The bat was used maybe 15 games in the Fall and then not used in the winter. Started using it in March and about the time the bat was broke in it cracked in two places the first crack was 6 inches long and the second was 3 inches. I called Easton and they would not replace it.

I never cracked/broke an easton, but I never cared a lot for them myself when I was in school. I busted up 4 Worth Copperheads though. I loved them though, with the LS TPX being my second choice.

the comp bats sound "dead" but if you hit it on the sweet spot the ball flys.
